Your Festive Cheer Box tutorial + Last Chance bargains

August 6th 2026

Hello Reader,

I shared a funny little craft room hack on Facebook this week. It wasn't anything fancy, but it really helped me and I wondered if someone else would find it helpful. Amazingly, that post was seen well over 75,000 times and shared in multiple languages!

The thing is, as crafters we have far more in common than we sometimes realise. That shared interest gives us a sense of community. We may speak different languages or live on different sides of the world, but put stamps, ink and paper in front of us and we 'get it'! And apparently, one of the things we all share is wondering where on earth we left the washi tape. 😄

That same sharing of ideas is how this issue's tutorial came about. My Festive Cheer Gable Box generated a lot of interest when I shared it recently, and several people wanted to know how it was made, so I've put together the full tutorial for you to download and enjoy.

There is also a fair bit happening in the store this month, which I'll get to below.

Enjoy the latest issue!

This Festive Cheer Gable Box was demonstrated during the celebration marking 20 years of Stampin' Up! in the South Pacific. I was so excited to make it! I added a few changes of my own, then taught it at my July classes. So much fun!

The White Gable Boxes come in packs of 10 and are food-safe, which makes them a practical choice for Christmas baking.

The tutorial has the full supplies list, all the steps, and two variations, including an idea for adapting the same wreath onto a card front.

My favourite part is the fluffy velveteen leaves. They feel so good to touch!

Last Chance has just been refreshed

This is the big one this month. The Last Chance list is updated every other month and August is one of those months, so a lot has just been added. Discounts run from around 10% up to 50% off.

There are some genuine bargains in there, including two retreat kits - complete with all the products and the online classes - at half price.

Rather than list the whole lot here, I've gone through it properly on the blog and pulled out some of the highlights worth a closer look, including the 2026 Virtual Card Making Retreat which has dropped to $144.00 from $288.00.

15% off Designer Series Paper & Cardstock

Nice! We get 15% off a wide selection of Designer Series Paper and cardstock until 31 August.

If your paper drawer has been looking a bit thin, this is the month to top it up. One suggestion: pull out what you already own before you shop. You'll either find a pack you had forgotten about or work out exactly what's missing. Either way, you’ll have a better idea of what you actually need.

Product of the Month: Glow of Harvest

August's Product of the Month is the Glow of Harvest 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper for $9.00 once your order reaches $125. It has a pearlised finish that photos never quite do justice to - an easy way to add something a bit special to your stash.

A reminder on Paper Pumpkin: 25% off

If Paper Pumpkin has been sitting on your 'maybe' list, the 25% discount on your first month's subscription ends on 10 August, so this is the week to decide.

For anyone who has not come across it, Paper Pumpkin is a craft kit that arrives in your letterbox each month with everything cut and ready to stamp and assemble. It suits those times when you want to make something without having to plan it first.

Subscribers who sign up through me also get access to my private Facebook group, along with ideas and inspiration for each kit in the form of a printable document, including alternative projects for when you want to stretch the supplies a bit further.

Two New Kits

Two new kits arrived this month, and neither of them is for cardmaking, which is a nice change of pace.

The Crafted Blooms Kit is $25.00 and the Witchy Whimsy Hat Kit is $49.00. Both are home decor projects rather than cards, so they're a really lovely way to use the skills you already have on something that lives in your house instead of going in an envelope.

Stampin’ Up! kits are a great option if you want something creative and relaxing without needing to plan the project from scratch.

A gift for you

When you shop my online store and opt in to the free Stampin’ Rewards program, you’ll earn 10% in rewards on orders of $35 or more.

And if you place an order of $50 or more, I’ll send you the current IDEAS Tutorial Bundle, with written tutorials from our international design team. There’s a new theme each month, and this month’s theme is Online Exclusives.

Can’t find your bundle? Just reply to this email to let me know.

That's everything from me this issue. Between the Last Chance list, the paper sale and the Paper Pumpkin deadline, there's a fair bit happening. If you'd like a hand working out what's worth considering for the kind of cards you make, just reach out. I'm here to help.
Happy stamping,
Simone

Handmade Birthday Wishes card with softly coloured flowers on black-and-white patterned paper

July 22nd 2026 Hi Reader, There's something particularly cheerful about a box of craft supplies arriving at your door, especially when everything you need to start creating is already inside and wrapped in pretty tissue paper. My July Paper Pumpkin box arrived recently, and while the projects are ready to make exactly as designed, I'm always curious to see what else I can create with all those pieces. Further down I'll show you some of the alternative projects from our first few Australian...

A sweet little mini bag you can make from a 6" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper

July 6th 2026 Hi Reader, Don't we love a quick little project that uses 6" x 6" patterned paper? In this issue I share one of my favourite mini bag patterns, perfect for dressing up a small gift or treat. But heads up: try to find a non-directional pattern for this project, or the images will be upside-down on the back of the bag! Online Exclusives are always a bit funny. Some releases are quite small, and others are huge. May was pretty quiet because that’s when the new catalogue arrived,...

A clever card featuring strips of cardstock on the background

June 25th 2026 Hi Reader, If it's been a while since you created with paper, this is your invitation to begin again. This week I started a Creative Kickstart over on Facebook, sharing simple ways to find inspiration when you’re not quite sure what to make next. It began with my recent blog post, Five Creative Ways to Find Card Making Inspiration. I know how easy it is for our craft supplies to sit untouched when life gets busy. Sometimes all we need is one small idea and a little...
